Volunteers help make Nepco Lake a lasting source of joy and recreation. From caring for the lake to keeping neighbors informed, every contribution supports the community we share.
You can help with an occasional task, take part in a short-term project, or join an ongoing work team. You don’t have to know exactly where you fit before reaching out.
Explore ways to contribute
Board service
Help guide the NLD’s priorities and decisions. We are seeking interest in a currently vacant elected commissioner seat and another expected to become vacant soon. We especially welcome people willing to support financial management or stakeholder engagement.
Fundraising
Help research funding opportunities, write grants, or build connections that could bring additional support to the NLD.
Stakeholder Engagement
Help neighbors stay informed and get involved through newsletters, website updates, volunteer outreach, and community connections.
Harvesting
Help keep harvesting services running by operating a harvester, driving the truck that hauls harvested plants, or contributing mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. We’ll discuss the responsibilities and any training needed before you commit.
Water Quality
Support water testing, shoreline improvements, invasive-species prevention, or educational activities. An interest in learning and caring for the lake is welcome alongside experience in natural resources, chemistry, or agriculture.
Finance
Contribute financial management skills to help track NLD finances, explain the budget clearly, and plan for future needs.
Start with a conversation
Email [email protected] and share:
- Your first and last name.
- The opportunity or type of work that interests you.
- The amount of time you’re comfortable contributing.
- Any skills or ideas you’d like to share.
We’ll personally acknowledge your interest within five days and help you explore a suitable next step. Before you agree to a role or task, we’ll explain what it involves, the expected time commitment, and who will support you.
Reaching out does not commit you to volunteering. If you’re unsure which opportunity to choose—or have another idea—we’d still like to hear from you.
