Invasive Species “Snapshot Day”

Join the statewide search for aquatic invasive species!

Are you interested in learning how to identify and monitor for aquatic invasive species to protect Wisconsin’s streams, lakes, and wetlands? This year, staff from the Wood County Land & Water Conservation Department will be hosting Snapshot Day at Nepco County Park on Friday, August 9th, 2024.

Snapshot Day is a statewide, one-day event connecting volunteers, water lovers, and local groups in search for aquatic invasive species. Volunteer registration will open on June 3rd. No experience is necessary and training will be provided prior to and at the time of the event.

For more information, please visit the Water Action Volunteers website at https://wateractionvolunteers.org/event-page/aquatic-invasive-species-snapshot-day-2024/ or Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/uwaisprogram.

Please note that all statewide promotional materials will state that Snapshot Day is occurring on Saturday, August 10th. Due to a conflicting event, the Nepco County Park Snapshot Day will be held on Friday, August 9th. This will also be reflected during the registration process.
